  • I spent 3 days in Kyoto during which was Japan`s biggest festival - Gion Matsuri which marks the beginning of summer.  Tens of thousands of people flood the streets in the nights leading up to the main parade.  They dress up in costume, play traditional music and eat lots of food.  It was interesting to see them let their hair down so to speak.
